If it's any consolation, there are plenty of people who have paid the premium for "ready to ride" stuff that haven't been ready to ride.
 
Good luck with your engine. If the the builder is going to make things right then you can't ask for more for the situation. Everyone makes a mistake now and then the difference is those who will take responcibility and do what it takes.

I couldn't agree more, "ready to ride" is not I am riding it now, I had a slight hiccup with a ready to drop in and ride motor. The starter was bad in it. Put in my old starter and it's been running great ever since. The builder has more than made it up to me but it was aggravating at the time!

The Builder is going to make it right extremely apologetic. Im totally understanding of the while human error thing. In the end Im lucky to be able to afford things like these toys. I've waited this long what's another week or so. Getting it packaged up this afternoon

If he makes it right then everything worked out as well as possible. sadly especially with skis things happen and most of them can be avoided. I learn something new everytime something breaks!
