I was able to take a look at the carbs tonight. Both still have the 42psi pop off and i dont have any jets clogged. I ordered block off plates from jetmaniac so thats the next step. My gut says one of the o rings on the ada head isnt sealing correctly causing the issue.
Have you pressure tested your carbs? I melted a piston because my carb back plate on the front cylinder was leaking. It ended up sucking air and leaning out the mixture on that hole. Pressure up your carbs like you would to test pop off, but don't go all the way to make the needle pop. If the gauge needle doesn't stay still, you're leaking somewhere. Find the leak with soapy water and correct it.

Jetmaniac just messaged me to do this. Fingers crossed thats it. The carbs have been sitting for a long time in a junkyard shed. Very possible i didnt clean them good enough.

Ive been going through the groupk right ups. Theres a lot of information there. The one you linked to was saying how the crank torsions and changes the timing of the rear cylinder. Which has me thinking i should retard the time to compensate but that sounds like the wrong way to fix it.
Don’t retard the timing just yet. I just turned the high speed adjuster (on the rear carb) out an additional 1/8 or 1/4 (can’t remember) and the piston wash is near perfect.

I chased, what I thought, was a tuning issue for a couple months until I changed out the needle and seats. At least take a look at them.

That is an interesting theory, but there really isn’t any other reason.

I checked carbs. Damn near perfect. Pressure test was a success. Pop off is still good. Ruling them out. I did start to take the intake mani off to get ready to pressure test engine and had one loose screw under the problem carb.

Note: the reeds i were using were also from junkyard. They appearessfine. I am putting in my old carbon ones i had run originally before engine went soft. My thought behind this was to go more stock but if it aint broke dont fix it.

I messages jetmaniac about the crank torsion and he told me it would be extremely unlikely.

This is so important and something slot of people miss I think. Your carbs should hold until they pop. And the pop should be extremely crisp. And should immediately seal. It's especially critical on high hp, high displacement engines that see a very big increase in fuel requirement from idle to wot, at the rapid transition freestyle requires.

Issue has been resolved. As I was removing the intake manifold, I missed tightening up one of the screws which I am sure was the issue. After I got it off, I did a pressure test and found a pinhole where there was a second pulse line drilled (jb welded it off and missed a spot I guess). All new gaskets on the intake manifold, dressed them with fuel and oil resistant gasket sealant, made sure to tighten everything up real good with blue threadlocker. I threw back in the 135 high jets and was finally able to tune it correctly. Got it all dialed in just a hair richer than it needs to be. Thanks for all the help! Neighbors now hate me again :)

Check out my air leak. Ol girl ran fine for 50hrs between top end check. Not sure when it happened. But clearing it out on the trailer it would Rev weird. That was the only tell
