650/X-2 Pjs 830 big bore

Any one have any input or opinions on this motor heard they are rare. Good power ? Worth it for an x2 build? Is 800 a good price minus pistons carb and pretty much just cran cyl head

Its on ebay i won it. It has everything on 650 cases so i guess im green but the heading said rare pjs 830 big bore. Did i get hosed for 850 bucks? Id really like to k ow what im gettin into i heard the pjs viper 7000 was a screamer so i thought id go bigger... Lol

You will probably have to work some to get the parts you need to get it running. Most guys drop a 750 motor in there, or even an 800 from an SX-R. Either way, cool project you got there.

Does it look like this? if so you'll need blockoffs for the old intake manifold and from what I can guess very specific pistons to fit the 650 connecting rod. I bought a project ski and this came in one of the bins. Whole kit(head/gasket/jugs/pistons/carbs) just need a decent 650 bottom end to bolt it to. The previous owner was in love with this thing and swore it would be a sweet motor. It does have huge water jackets through the jugs and head for good cooling and I'm assuming it runs some high compression ratios. He also claims its worth $1600 as a full kit.

Nice setup, is it an 800 or 700? I like the one that I have. The motor produces a great power all through the throttle range.

Wiseco used to make pistons that fit a 650 rod but were sized to a 750 jug but I've never heard of ones for 800. Probably gonns be a bit of a chore to find those.

I have a PJS 800 that is suppose to work with my 650 bottom end. Problem is 85mm pistons dont fit into the bottom crank case. 2 big!!! My son is a machinist he is taking the case 2 work to machine it out. Everything else fits.

Have a great day!!!!

Yes, you have to clearance the cases for the 85mm pistons. You'll love the power you'll have.

I have the PJS Viper 9000 800cc motor which is the same as yours but it's the complete setup mated to a case made specific for that cylinder.
Im actually thinking of selling it complete with electronics carbs everything ready to plug in for $1000 shipped.
It has about 10hrs from new, all hours put on by me.

Very powerful motor..90-100hp

You can still get pistons from John at jetski Haven

I'm considering selling it. I'm thinking of doing a group k 850 big bore and if I get an offer for my 800 I'd consider letting it go

I haven't ridden a SXR but the PJS Viper 9000 is rated between 90-100HP and beleive the 800sxr is 80hp. The PJS motor has great bottom end power and is known as the "HT" High Torque. I had it in a Kawaskai Sport Cruiser and it was running 50mph.

If fastcat777's motor has 85.00mm pistons and is on a 650 caae, it's a 800cc. If on a 750 case, it close to 850cc.

The blockoffs for the 650 location. Can those be plates? or does the blockoff have to have the protrusion for volume purposes?
