Well yeah. You get the point though - why dent the chamber when you can do it right instead of the :):):):)ed up way.

So the options are:

1. Put a dent into the carefully designed, tuned $400 chamber
2. Spend 10 minutes to grind down a corner on a $7 bed plate.

Ima hafta think about that one, I'll get back to ya'll.

Or you could read on fpp's website where they say denting it will not affect performance

Dentingn the chamber will also assure that it never hits. So if another user gets the pipe or you get new bed plates it won't dent. I'm just trying to be helpful, not a dick.

One of my buddies earned the nickname "Dents" for several years after he massaged a brand new set of ceramic coated triple pipes into his Skidoo with a hammer and a block of wood. I understand that sometimes small adjustments need to be done but at what point do you stop and say to yourself, "I'm a f***ing retard and I must be missing something" It was tragic what he did to that exhaust. I have always had the thought since that there has to be a better way than laying hammer to metal.

That's a little different than putting a quarter sized dent into a pipe. My bed plate doesn't even hit the pipe. The bolt does.

Ima guess here that grinding the bedplate affects performance even less and as an additional, free benefit it won't hurt resale value of your B-Pipe or make you (not you, generally speaking) look like a hammer wielding buffoon.

So does fpp tell us to dent it because they are too lazy to adjust the pipe jig? Or is it because they don't want to risk hurting their horsepower ratings... Id rather grind the plate.
