Please help....about to give up and part this out.

Ive pretty much replaced just about everything with new. I'm getting tired of putting money into this ski, beginning to think im just not destined to own a Yamaha. Maybe I should go back to kawi.

I guess a 17 second video is too large to upload so the link contains a video I just took . Seems like it's hitting the rev limter way to early. Could it be fuel related or something electrical, maybe in the cdi?

I see some single 44 in line with yours and some higher. This is not me endorsing the numbers below.

Brand = mikuni
Model = sbn
Size = 44
Quantity = 1
Main Jet = 157.5
Pilot Jet = 127.5
Needle/Seat = 2.0
Spring = 95 g with 25 psi pop off

Brand =-------Mikuni
Model =-------SBN
Size =---------44
Quantity =-----1
Main Jet =-----145
Pilot Jet =-----120
Needle/Seat =- 2.0
Spring =------ 65 gram
Pilot screw = --1.25 turns
Main Screw =--2.25 turns

Possible simple electrical issue? Just helped a guy thru a faulty temp sensor with similar symptoms, was putting ski into limp mode intermittently.
I'm sorry, no thoughts on jetting for you, I'm OE 38's.

The only thing electrical I haven't replaced with new is the voltage regulator and cdi.

Are the CDI's specific to a T or X stator? Or can either cdi be used with either stator ?

You can spray some fuel mix into the air filter intake as you rev the throttle. If it screams to the rev limiter every time you hit the throttle ..not elect but carbs more likely

Stock exhaust?

Do you have the correct flywheel/stator combo?

Before I rebuilt my blaster it would hit the rev limiter right away on the trailer, but would run great in the water.

Flywheel and stator are correct combo. I bought a stator not knowing the difference and it didn't fit under the original flywheel, bought a t flywheel and it fit.

From the video it sounds like it's cutting out around the 3500 RPM mark where the temp sensor would kick in. Perhaps the temp sensor lead from your CDI is grounded. Do you have an electronic tach to check the exact RPM value where it cuts out?

I don't have a tach, but tonight after work I'll check the schematic on the ground issue.

There's no temp sensor present, just the wires.

I'm certain not your issue but I would definitely get a vacuum cap or 1/4" plug for your unused 'on' fuel line - that "doubled over in a zip tie" system looks like a problem waiting to happen.
JMO & I mean no offense, your clean & sano engine bay deserves much better!
And post up what you find in the disconnected temp sensor wires, maybe grounding out as mentioned above.
