If surf isn't nuts and I can get him out with me when it isn't busy I plan to let my 10 year old try surf. Checking first to see if there is an age requirement for the event. I know usual rules outside of event are 14 and up.

(So my buddy waited till the night before we are going to leave to try and register his ski and of course the computers were down) so to my question, I know you have to buy a Florida registration to ride before the event but does his MN registration have to be current also?

you do not have to buy FL registration, you need a current reg in your home state for the pre ride and you need to register for the event to ride at the event.

If he only plans to ride thurs-sun he just has to pay the event reg fee and I don't think anyone cares wether or not the ski has a state registration.

If he plans on riding before Thursday he needs to have his ski registration current in his home state and have all the normal USCG saftey stuff

You can ride during the event from thurs.-sun. In the event ride zone only with most any ski and no registration, etc. needed.

...but if you want ride in the county ride zone before the event like from sun.- wed. then your ski will need to be legit with current registration, state numbers on the hull, fire extinguisher, whistle, etc.
