Octane Polaris Octane

Hi there! :)

I'm about to buy a 2004 Polaris Octane (currently have a Yamaha FX1).
I have 2 options, one fully stock for 3800$ and other modified for racing for 4500$ (bigger pistons, + compression, diferente impeller, plate, intake, and some other mods..).
I want the jetski for freeride and some freestyle.

What do you advise?
Which mods are good in this jetski? (Works plate is good? It's better the Jet Dynamics intake and plate? original impeller is good?)
What parts may i be carefull not to have problems?

Thanks!

Are you dead set on an Octane? I wouldn't say that the Octane is the first choice for a freestyler. They're stable and probably a nice freeride platform. They are a bit pricey and spare parts (and A/M parts) are more rare than for the SXR or the Superjet.

For the price i can get it and for the extras that it has, i think it's a good deal not to be lost!
It has already all the parts i would want (if i would buy a superjet i would want all the parts that the octane has).
This one costs 3500$ and apart from original extras (factory b pipe, 40mm khein carbs, magnum pump, solas impeller, works intake and plate, umi pole and steering, etc...) this one already come with blowsions tubbies II, bildge pump, foot kickers (not foot holders has i want), electric box better protected from water, etc...

I think that buying a stock superjet and buying all of these parts i will cost me more than 2x the amount of money of this ski...

And i think that this ski only has the engine and ele box as a polaris part, almost everything else is aftermarket parts... am i right?

It will be mostly for freeriding.

True, it comes with a lot of "extras" from the factory. The ski is a bit on the heavy side. What I meant about the parts was that you can get superjet spare parts cheap and easy, while the Octane parts are more scarce (spl?). If you like how it rides, go ahead and get it. I just compared it to my Superjet a few weeks ago so that is where my input comes from.

I just bought a 2002 and come to find out the pump may be beyond repair. Looking at $1200 for a new pump, and that's without the prop... These guys aren't lying, Octanes are expensive, and no one has parts...

don't let these guys talk you out of it. i'd never sell my octane for a sj. but i'll be doing a carbon hull pretty soon :) the parts an octane comes with is the price of a stock RN. it's not quite as light as a sj, but it's not that much heavier. i'm 250lbs and i get about 4-5 feet of air under me with my own setup wake. they feel heavier until you do a sj steering cable and use the quickest steering spot on the turn plate and it will feel much more nimble.

Thanks Billybo455! :)

You have the main point there, that's one of the strong reasons about buying an Octane!
Y will do a fully carbon hull? To get it lighter?
Will you do same has original? That might cost alot!!??

I have the same doubt! Just wondering what's the best plate, between those 2 brands, (and intake too) for the Polaris Octane...

Also, any one knows wich waterbox is best for the Octane, a TDR baffled or a TDR power spay?
Any one knows any videos showing the noise of each waterbox?
