Other Polaris Rzr's

School me on Rzr's! Who's got one?

They seem to be the "superjets" of the off road worrld. I'd like to know if any of you guys own them or have some firstbhand experience of which models are better than others and what not.

We are finally getting a jetski ramp put in the back yard and I'm looking to uprage my 05 Honda rancher 350 to something with a little more power and a bit more impractical. I'm sure any rzr 800cc + can pull a ski up or down a hill but I'd like to know which models are the overall best and most reliable. 800,900, or the 1k.

i have a 2017 xp4 1000. i absoultley love it. what kind of info are you looking for? i have been in an older 900 and the new ones blow them out of the water. the suspension design on the newer ones is diffrent also. There is unbelievable aftermarket support for them also. you can also get a reciever for a hitch.

Well, I'd like to stay around the $10k mark, that's the biggest factor. As of right now it will be specifically used to tow a ski up and down a small hill, to and from the beach. As much as I'd like an xp1000, I think it'd be a little too impractical. Although, I have found a few 1000's with around 1k miles for $12k. Craigslist prices seem a hell of a lot higher than eBay.

Sub'd when I get around to selling the couch a rzr for trail riding is on the list for winter sport toy.

16s are turboed already. alot of the recalls are on 16's and most specifically turbos. careful buying one with low mileage, apperantley you can buy gauge clusters from ebay and when you plug them into your clappedout rzr they will read what ever mileage the gauge cluster came from

Is the gauge thing only for 2016's or for any year?

I have the 2016 xp 1000 and love it. It did have 5 recalls no big deal just dropped it at the dealer for 1 day and they were all done. Plus they gave me a $250 store credit for my troubles so i bought a new front bumper with it. Xp has the best suspension with killer long travel you barely feel any bumps. I have about 1000 miles on mine with zero issues.

Rode in a Rzr XP. it was amazing. It's probably the closest you'll ever get to owning a trophy truck. No where to use them around here. I'd buy one if they could be made street legal.

I have a 2012 Can-Am Commander. Love it. Goes anywhere Rzr's go snow, dirt, rocks, sand. Plenty of ground clearance. Fox Shocks keep it floating through whoop sections. Actually noticed it exceeds the limits of the Rzr's in snow due to the UHMW under belly. But still has utility dump bed for around the property. 73 mph naturally aspirated, gets there fast. Has alot of CV noise at high speeds, caused by the straight cut gears in front and rear differential. No problems what so ever, just normal belt replacement every few years. Highly recommended if your looking for best of both worlds.

Prices on the 900s and 1ks seem to be dropping already with the release of the 1k turbo.

Do you guys have or know anyone that he made a side by side street legal?

Here in Ohio golf carts can be made street legal but Rzr's can not be...

If you really want the "superjet" off-road experience buy a dirt bike or sport quad. Side by sides are the couches of the off-road world. Lol

Well, i ended up keeping the ole rancher 350 for pulling the skis up and down the hill. She does alright as long as you get a little bit of a head start.

I did end up getting a new daily driver though.. Fully street legal and %100 impractical. It makes it up and down the ramp just fine too..
