Pole length

I recently bought and built a wdk rip and am curious about pole length. I only cut two inches off to start(standard superjet length) and as soon as I rode it, it was obvious that the pole was way to long.

Im.just curious ig theres a general rule of thumb as far as a good starting point in relation to a person's height? Or is it all just trial and error?

I agree, Rip naturally wants to ride nose high. Its the nature of the beast. Cut them suckers!

If you don't want to cut those tubes I have some black precut RRP tubes (about as short as the picture above) that i'll never use. Could trade you or sell?

Took six inches more off. May go a little more, but pretty happy right now.
Much easier to ride and remount in deep water. Thanks for the suggestions.

I’m not sure. I sold that ski a long time ago.

heres how my KP pole was cut on my riptide (I did end up taking 2" more out of it from the pictures), Im 6'2" and it worked well for me. Top and bottom parts are shorter than the RRP so it looks way longer.
