Pole pad to painted hood adhesive?

title says it all. What adhesive to use for installing a pole pad on a painted hood? EME aerial 8 if that matters. I know for “normal“ turf install weld wood is the go to just wasn’t sure how it would adhere to paint or if it’s overkill in this application. Thanks in advance.

weldwood sticks to literally anything that doesn't have an oily film and will hold, given enough surface area. You'll tear the foam pad before the glue lets loose.

I used 3m panel adhesive. Way stronger than weld wood. Downside is very hard to remove in future

+1 on weldwood. If you sand the paint where you plan to mount the pad, and apply 3 coats to both the padding and the hood, then let It air dry thoroughly, it will hold up strong enough that the padding will tear before the glue fails. Had my pole pad blow off yesterday when landing inverted from a under rotated barrel roll. The padding ripped, leaving a patch on the hood.
