Poles- stiff or spring

I got a waterdog lowered pole bracket for my 2016 superjet and didn’t realize you couldn’t use a spring with it. With that being said, I jump behind boats and rip buoys once in a while.

Am I better off tightening the bolts and bracket with no spring or returning it and getting the blowsion bracket that I can use a spring with? If so, stock or blowsion spring?

The WDK bracket should have a slot for the spring. Have a picture of yours?
