POS predator pump inserts

im not even going to begin to bash or tell the tale of this ski. The kavinci pump had to come out and while putting it back in one of the rear inserts for mounting the nozzle has stripped. With a quarter inch ratchet just starting to hit the lock washer to compress it down. Any thoughts? I'm half tempted to just through bolt the thing in there and be done with it. Love the hull and the way it rides if it weren't for that I would have sent it back. The entire thing has been NOTHING but problems. Maybe Thailand doesn't quite have their S together. Should have just bought a tigercraft from the get go.

That being said, pump inserts?

Got your PM thanks Jon. I am literally putting a single helicoil in it for now. I have a time cert kit for several different engine blocks but not close to the right threads.

And just so EVERYONE knows I havnt had as good as customer service once Nick Barton stepped in. I can say right now that he's gone above and beyond with this nightmare. I think this ski is just cursed.

I had to drill out and install heli coils in all four pump inserts and all four ride plate inserts on my 2013 Foot Rocket. It's annoying that they used aluminum vice brass or even stainless, but what can we do? I've had zero issues once putting the heli coils in. And you could replace the fine thread bolts for the more common course threads for the pump if you wanted, too...

Well it's nice to hear I'm not the only one that went through this issue. It's just been one thing after another.

well not to be a di@k but its good to know that this ski was assembled knowing that would happen by the krash rep and his crew who are the ones who installed the pump in the first place lol

thanks for helping me out jon i appreciate it alot.

Hey man I can't speak for them, I'm not a paid employee and have nothing to do with day to day actions of the company. I can be found helping out at freerides, but that's about it.

This is a known fact that your here to not make money but because your passionate about the sport and making it go farther. I hope we can meet someday so I can shake your hand and buy you a drink.

Helicoils outperfom timeserts. They will distribute the stress better then timeserts and take more "abuse"
Its a bummer though. Scream uses aluminium inserts also, seems to work. I had the 3 bolts to my mid shaft come out, dont know how, they got blue loctite and torque to spec.
Anyway did ALOT of research about thread repair. Found a engineer site were they claimed helicoil to be superior. I bought both timesert and helicoil and did my own bench test.
Made a 8x1.25mm timersert and made a 8x1.25 helicoil. i torqued with my torque wrench in steps. The timers ripped the treads around 30nm (if i recall)and the helicoid kept up until the stainless bolt snapped. I could screw the snapped part out and repeat this process (the thread/helicoil still was perfect) I might even have the video/pics somewere
Helicoil for me :)

lol, had to go trough my old HD from my laptop but found the pics and little video. Unfortunately i didn't shoot video om the "fail test" it self, but the picture shows. Helicoil took much more torque and snapped the bolt(and this process was repeated 4 times, helicoil is still perfect), the timesert stripped the thread. Same type of M8x1.25 A4 bolts were used :)

New OEM bolts might help. Reusing them old salty ones year after year they seem to become brittle and snap along with clogging the threads etc.
