Custom/Hybrid Possible to ride a bob like a jetski?

Anyone have a video of a bob just ripping around the lake? Like going fast and turning?

This is me with my 7 month pregnant wife on a stone stock sj and me on an 850 D cut plate and r&d sponsons that dont do anything.. porpoising along.

can you do this on a bob? G3 with the long plate? I would like to order one this week but if its like riding my sj with the trim lever pulled the whole time then im not so sure.

Why watch a video or trust someone else's ride impression? There's a lot of BOB s out there; ride one and judge for yourself. Might take some time, money, and effort, but save you in the long run.

my wifes due date is oct 3 havasu is the closest bobs I know of, ten hours away. Not an option this year.

Im sure a chan would be sweet but it kinda looks like a long wait list to get one. and again no video of just cruising around having fun.

SmittySX has a nice black Gen2 BOB for sale if you decide that's what you want. I've had a little bit of time on it, but I had no desire to cruise anywhere, just get air :veryhappy:. That's probably what most people with BOB s buy them for.

In my personal experience I was missing my SJ almost immediately after building my ROK-R. The ROK-R was awesome for ridding around and hitting set-up wakes, but for my ridding style I missed my SN. I know it's not a BOB but I figured I would give my feedback. If your looking to run around at high speed and carve around a short flatwater hull isn't going to be for you.

I saw this yesterday, its a Chan, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYlAiARr8y8 this is actually in the delta where I like to ride. my buddy has a bob and he likes to play around and chase boat wakes and carve etc, and he even rides it up through the river and rapids, says its a blast for that kind of stuff but still short enough to flick around your own wake. I think the freak is the best for worlds but real pricy, and ive been asking the same question because I haven't seen much of them carving or playing around

Yes, it is. I rip around pretty well on mine. I don't hit 40, but between the ski, prop and stock ignition, 40 ain't easy. Plus fast in a straight lines retarded, if I wanted to do that on a ski, I'd race

I am going to GPS my rok next time out .. I feel like I can break mid 50 easily .. so i must be :dunce: lol

To op; I have limited AM hull experience only rode a carbon freak and my carbon rok but I feel like any short hull is going to be challenging to get the nose down and on plane or carve. Of course it's much easier in glass conditions like that, but it will definately be some adjusting to. I would try it first unless you're feeling a bit daring to go into it blindly (like I usually do..)

In my video I have some pretty solid high speed runs on my hurricane. Watch the very beginning and end. They track reeeaaally well without porpoising at high speeds if you're in glass. They do a little on bumps as you'll see. Never kicks you off tho. But unfortunately my buddies g3 does sometimes. Go with a hurricane. They're dialed.

I raced a chan in beginner class on the weekend. I came in 9th out of 10 racers on limited sxrs and big bore super jets

Maybe a proper setup Bob with long plate? It sounds like you have no need for a short Am hull. And if you want one that can do that get a Freak, Rok, Rickter fs2, Trinity. Closest thing I road length wise to a Bob was a XFS. And on glass it bounced all over trying to chase a boat.

Watch my video " freestate freeriders version 2 " it shows alot of video of Freaks chasing 70ft yatchs in chop to flip.

My ROK does really well in flat or chop. I don't have a ton of tray time in it yet. But everyone that has ridden it has had good things to say.

But if money wasn't a object I would get a - 4.3 superfreak hands down.

Can it be done? Sure. Easily? No. Bobs do not like to go fast. You will eventually be bucked. It can be done but you have to pay very close attention to how it's reacting to the water. It's only marginally easy if your going up wind with a decent amount of small wind chop. Source: Self proclaimed person with the most time on a G3.

Short answer. No. Short distance. Yes. But does not sound like it what your wanting. A Bob, Rok, Chan are not designed to ride like a SJ. A Wammer Hull or Trinity Matrix would handle and ride like a SJ.
