Oh and OCD as long as stainless touches aluminium it will do that those materials don't like each other

Yup, that's why I don't understand why they don't annodize the housing first to put a protective barrier between the aluminum and stainless.

Its not very often the knock-offs are a "better" product.... sounds to me like it might be the case, man I would be pissed if I were you! I kinda am right now....glad I went another route

Do you annodize as well or just powder coat?

I really don't even care about the finish as long as the protective value is there.

Your pump turned out nice. I went a different "custom" route, and made my own pump.

then thats perfect if u want there number ill get it for u. also i think black would turn out better

Thanks for the offer and the info but I'm not too worried about it right now, my interest is more for future reference. I wouldn't risk damaging my pump by pressing the stator out but I will definately annodize the next stator housing should I ever have to repair the pump again.

Warranty??

I have a friend who had the same problem with his Skat Mag, nothing but problems. Ill let him chime in if he wants to. He's had to get it repaired numerous times then he said hell with it, sold it and put his stocker back in. This was before the day of the Newer Solas pumps that I think he's going to upgrade to at some time.

the only other issue is if the surface gets scratched or galled as its being pressed in, then it will no longer be protected. same for any machined edges like where the end of the casting meets the stainless. that would be my guess as to where the corrosion will find its spot to start. then it just undermines the surface and thats that. but I still think you would buy some time at any rate and it will be tons more protected than just painted or raw.

vwking- im sure that pic does the color no justice. I have a metallic red a friend did on my intake grate and its awesome, pics look pink or faded. something about the metallic or pearl that makes it look hazey at certain angles. not at all what it looks like in person. nice color.

Ya you are correct about it not shows true full colors it looks 100% badass in person anyways thanks for all the positive feed back im thinkin about starting a page on here offering powder coating. I already have a couple members that are sending me parts to paint so there will be some feedback from them in the next couple weeks.
