Post your Trailer setups

I was looking for some inspiration for my new trailer build and only came across a few threads with a couple pictures. I'm currently looking to build a new 2 ski flat deck trailer. The purpose of the flat deck style is to protect my skis since I have to travel over some loose gravel roads to get to my riding spots.

My current converted single couch setup works great but doesn't offer the protection I want to keep my rickter safe from stone hits

I plan on adding some duradeck bunks, stolz bow stops, fuel rack, beach stand slot and a front rock guard if the trailer wasn't already equipped with it.

Let's see what's you've got

That's a tough decision. To me the high deck + bunks will put the skis pretty high. Depending on the steepness of the ramp his equates to backing pretty far in the water to float them off. Because of the short trailer I bet the tow vehicle rear tires will be up to the brakes in the water to float them.

On the flip side 5' between fenders is tight for those 2 skis. A walkway on the trailer between the skis is a very nice thing to have.

This winter I'm going to try and make a single sit down trailer into a duel stand up trailer and try to fit a small walkway in between by tilting the skis up over the fenders. The fenders on the low trailer look too high to try that, I'm just throwing out ideas. My crude drawing is not to scale.

As you would be using the trailer for 'ski's in summer and the sled in winter why don't you buy a dedicated 'ski trailer and deck it with marine ply? I know that in Australia we have brackets with a captive bolt/nut set up that attach to the chassis so that the vertical stem of the bracket on the bunks slides into the lower bracket and is secured in place. So you'd have a permanent flat deck with holes in it where the stems go through to fit in the brackets mounted on the chassis. Fitting/removal of 4 bunks involves tightening/loosening 8 bolts.

Great choice, I likey!

The width to haul 3 skis if needed and the ability to remove the bunks and use it as a flatbed to haul whatever is even nicer.

Quite a few of the hitch haulers in our group are done with the composite boards.

If I did another trailer with bunks, I'd go that route.

How to you plan to use this for a sled? A buddy of mine tried this last winter, the carbides and studs tear the aluminum up. You could screw on some ski glides and a cut down truck bed mat for the studs, but thats just more holes in the deck and they wouldn't re-fasten very well for a second winter. And not sure how you'll get the sled up there if it doesn't tilt - ramp or back up to a snowbank?

Those are pretty slick.

I’m planning a bunch of upgrades for my Triton and bow stops are on that list.

I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to do them but you’ve given me a pretty good idea of where to start.

My welds won’t look that pretty though. ☹️
