Super Jet Power difference at 4500'?

My 95 superjet was running good at 500' but I'm on vacation at a lake that is 4500' above sea level and the ski feels like it has no power at all. Does this sound normal and what are some tuning tips for this elevation? Thanks

Totally normal. I live at 4700 ft. The 2 best things you can do are drop your impeller one pitch and decrease your dome size by 2cc (assuming you have a domed head like ADA or such). Carb tuning alone won't do much compared to compression and impeller.

I have my 1990 440 up here also and it seems like its running fine. Maybe a little less power than sea level but still way better than the SJ. It's blowing me away how much of a power loss there is. It seriously feels like half power loss or more. Sometimes it can barely pull me out and I'm only 165lbs. I rode it a day before I got up to this elevation and it ran fine so I don't think anything else is wrong with it.
