I bought a brand new PFP from Blowsion and there are 4 large spot welds, 2 on top and 2 on bottom of the chamber. Anyone know if this is something they are doing on the new pipes???

I emailed Power Factor and asked so hopefully I'll know tomorrow.

those welds are to secure the inner chamber to the outer skin. i heard the first pipes had problems breaking loose and leaking. baxter did warantee them. factory pipe makes them for baxter so i would figure they had a warrantee.

That was the temparary fix to the inner chamber issue. The newest ones will not be that way to my knowlege. They will be using thicker material and stronger welds. I can say your better off seing these welds than not for now as this means the issue was addressed on yours. UNLIKE MINE.
I am just waiting for the loss of power at this point.

i bought 2 pfp last year and am having power issues with one ski,i changed everything between the two skiis but the pipe.maybe this is the issue i'm having. both skiis have the exact same parts one runs like a scared rabbit ,othe other one feels like it is down a cylinder

two good things going on in that picture...

1.) the fittings are relocated. if they were still in the old spots, you will run into issues of them rubbing the underside the the handlepole bracket area (i did on a few hulls).

2.) hopefully if done right, the inner and outer are now properly secured.

i am on chamber #3. 1st one i ran for a couple years without a waterbox. once i added the waterbox, i noticed how down on power it was. after testing it, found water leaking from the "jacket" into the main chamber. powerfactor swapped and i received chamber #2... it broke in about a week. i had to pay for #3 / dealer cost, but rather then run it, i sent it out to get cut open and reinforced... i am NOT dealing with a broken chamber again. BS for the price you pay for them in my opinion. hopefully things have been changed and people are no longer dealing with broken chambers this coming season.

Hoping mine holds together. I got it last summer and it doesn't have the external weld marks. Thinking I'll pressure test while it's out.
