power gain..... et 967

ok ive just fitted a et 967 coming from a jm 781 , and to be honest its not a massive difference , either my jm was a awesome engine or the 967 isnt much better ,or i was expecting too much i still need to tune it , here are my specs which i think might be restricting the engine somewhat , please any advice welcome thanks !!

I had a 781 and jumped to a TPE964 and I had a huge power gain. But also my 781 wasn't tuned well and I should have upgraded some of the parts and listened to builders a bit more. My friend has a 781 in his SF and that ski is tuned and I am not surprised why you didn't notice the difference, his is wicked! Another point for Blue on those 781s. Bolt ons are a big key and Bpipe, and 46s are limiting factors. Also pump is small but still can be propped and provide enough power. Can your hull except a larger pump? Might be something to consider later down the road and just depending what your budget is left with. Good luck!

Try going down a couple prop sizes
14/18 is pretty steep. I'd try 12/18 or 11/17.

Definitely ditch the b pipe and buy a lay down style to unleash the real power that it has the potential to make!!

I would have to take Arts opinion on this . I have an et 967 in a new proforce it delivers stock triple performance but uses the same amount of gas as an sxr800 but its WAY faster . Its Very impressive, the TNT v3 pipe is awesome it completes an awesome package . There is more performance to be had with tuning but it runs so damn good i don`t want to fix something thats not broke.

That prop is way too shallow in my opinion. You'll spin it up to the same RPM range as the smaller motor and not feel much difference - you can pull a taller prop now, that's where the power is, like pulling a higher gear in a car..

I'm running a 9/16 In a 148 pump on mine. I was reccomended a 10/16 or 11/17 for a 144 pump by my Engine builder.

@Waveblaster785 What prop are you running on your 967??

I have a TPE1021, but I'm running a 14/21 148. If it were a flatwater ski I could probably go down a pitch or two and be happy slipping more but not ideal for what I do.

Don't know your combo but I ran an 11/17 with my old 785. With my 840 I ran a 13/19 hooker in a 144. Props are subjective, too many variables to equate engine size to prop size but a 14/18 144 seems low for an engine of his size that is running properly.
