Power leak w/ Zeeltronic.

I had some water get into my electronics box. I have a total loss ignition with a Zeeltronic. It seems to kill batteries while sitting in my garage and it also seems to ruin the battery as it will no longer charge back up. Do I need a new Zeel? Thanks for any ideas.

First place to start would be your starter solenoid? use a multi meter to see if it has any voltage leaks.
all zeel cdi has a very minimal power draw When dormant. (0.35v +/-) again, ck with multimeter if its excessive in your case?
please describe “sitting in garage” Couple days, weeks, months?
also ck all grounds ? If carbon hull? Make sure all mounted components are isolated from hull/carbon.
carbon is a conductor and is known to cause electrical issues. I have never seen what your describing as an issue with any zeel cdi?
but that doesnt mean its not possible? Please keep me posted as to what you find.

Was your water leak freshwater or saltwater?

Most would recommend disconnecting the ground at the battery for any period of storage especially using as a TL. Are you using a lithium battery? These usually need a special charger and charging and handling procedures.

I've tested both my older pdcs-o2t and the current pdcs-ao2t and both draw about 2 milliamps at idle. Pull the positive wire on the battery and check resting amperage. with and without the zeel connected. You'll need to isolate what is causing the draw.

The zeel constantly pulls current from the battery. End of the day you need to unhook the ground wire.
@OCD may be able to help with some quick disconnects

Agree with you Quinc, the first thing l do when l go out and come back from a ride,is the batt gets disconnected.Been doing this since my old 550 days

My zeel will kill the battery in 2 weeks, I have a quick connect on mine and plug a lithium battery tender to it when I leave, sometimes for months.
