What's the care and feeding like? I've never had a motor setup with these things before. What's involved, maintenance wise, with these contraptions?

Anything special to keep an eye out for?

The XS 1000's do get just a little bit of oil build up in the bellows, so just a simple cleaning every 3 months and replace the bellows once a year to keep them from getting stiff from the race fuel.
When you run a heavy mix of oil... the power valves don't get caked with carbon like you would if you ran oil injection or like 50:1 premix.

Interesting. How does that work? I would think that by running a heavier oil mix... that the Valves would be more prone to gunk build up.

anyone know which orientation (#1 or #2) is correct for the guillotine slider on a power valve? I pulled mine to inspect and didn't pay attention to how the slider was positioned. Each slider has a tapered tip as shown in pic.

all the PV i have seen the beveled edge went flush with the cylinder like #2 if it was put in like in #1 the piston would hit it because i stuck in further cuz of the angle the PV is on. this is just what i have seen.
