How is it any different than a fisherman putting out marker buoys? If you pick them up at the end of the day you're good. The worst they could do is say you were operating at above no wake speed within 100 feet of blah blah. they would have to be really trying to get you. And at that point there is very little you can do.

Yeah I agree, personally I've never had any problems, but just wondering.

Thats what I used to do also with the Overtons buoys. Only for weights I used the small old skool round plastic weights that are filled with concrete. I like your PVC tube idea, giives you something to wrap the cord around!

Does anyone ever have any trouble with other people when you set up buoys on some random lake? I'm not even sure what the laws are regarding this.
