Craig Day sounded the warning and I want to thank you Craig for your concerns and support of our brother, Jeremy Hoyland. Thank you for posting your concerns and sharing with all of us your fears. I value your kinship and thank you from my our heart to yours.

Kaye Syke called me early this morning. I heard the words 'Jeremy'...and grabbed my head, my heart exploding in my hands........I called her and lost myself for a few minutes, as any of us do when faced with a harsh reality.

Late last night I was purposly going through my photos from Worlds to find all of Jeremy's images, he was heavy on my mind and I found a bevvy of them, I laughed at each one as his intense and driven nature compliments mine well when working on the water on his behalf and you who compete...

Jeremy Hoyland is our IJSBA Race director, one of 3 from World Finals. He is also the IJSBA Race Director for the Bali Games, which has been taking place this past week. Staff members from World Finals flew over to manage the prestigious event.

It appears he went riding with 3 others, was left behind, in the water with a cell phone, lost transmission and now our Jeremy is lost at sea. Thirty hours have passed, if these reports are correct.

Jeremy is my brother, my champion and my friend. He is my anchor, and if he is mine, he is surely yours. I love Jeremy with loyalty, kinship and would die for him if needed. This situation has overwelmed me and I am sitting here typing thinking of his wife and children back home in England. I am so sorry they are going through this when Jeremy is so far away. He told me of his wife and girls and we went shopping together to our clothing booth to style them out and choose what they would want, he was excited picking out things to take home as he missed his girls.

Jeremy and I when we talk we stand about 5 inches from one anothers faces, like warriors with intensity we are focused and know exactly what to do. I know Jeremy is not one to panic nor to discount life, he has it all squared up, he has been a hero of mine since I first met him along with Bob Crabtree at the World Finals. As soon as I see Jeremy, I light up.

The last time I saw my friend, he was in his rental car, it was the day after Worlds, we were packing up, he drove over to speak to Scott and yelled out the window, 'I'll be right 'ack, stay 'ere, I want to talk to you, be 'ight back!' Enthusiastically, we waved and smiled and gave some hand signals and I waited, never to see him again.

Jeremy can hold on and I am sure that is what he is doing right now, he has a big life, he lives a big life and he's my boss, I will do anything for him, because he earned my respect a long time ago. I wish with all my heart and soul I could be of service to my friend right now, sitting here an ocean away, thinking of him connecting with me intuitively, all I can say is 'Jeremy, it will be all right, it will sort itself out' with confidence. Please join me in prayer and thankfulness for Jeremy to return to his family and to once again shine the light in our day.

This posting is for positive comments from those who care. Any others will be eliminated. I do not want to hear anything negative about Jeremy's situation, I will hunt you down myself and take care of you, so you better show respect for my brother, or i will teach you something about 'respect'. I do not want any postings about why or how or whom he rode with or the buddy system, it is not necessary. Please share your love, that is all that is required of you.

ABG Jetski race director gone missing

Asian Beach Games (ABG) jetski race director Jeremy Holland has gone missing since Friday afternoon, Antara news agency reported on Saturday.

The British national reportedly went missing after a jetski ride to Nusa Lembongan.

Holland was said to have travelled with three friends, but all three returned to Tanjung Benoa beach without him.

"Their trip to Lembongan was unrelated to the ABG race as there was no scheduled route survey that day," Indonesian Jetski Sport association chairman Syaiful Ihsan said.

Five helicopters and a Bali Search and Rescue (SAR) boat had been dispatched to locate Holland since Friday afternoon.

"The search has been extended to cover the Gilitapekong Lombok straits," Bali SAR chief I Ketut Parwa said. (amr)

British man missing in Indonesia

Mr Holland borrowed a sea scooter like these during the Asian Beach Games


A British sea scooter official has gone missing during the Asian Beach Games in Indonesia.
Jeremy Holland is believed to have disappeared on Friday during a trip to Nusa Lembongan islet, near Bali.
Mr Holland was supposed to return to Tanjung Benoa beach a few hours later to preside over a sea scooter race but failed to turn up.
The Foreign Office is in contact with Indonesian authorities and is providing consular assistance to his family.
The Jakarta Post reported that Mr Holland and four friends borrowed three sea scooters to visit the island at around 0900 local time (0100 GMT).

The others returned two of the scooters at around 1300 (0500 GMT) but Mr Holland was not with them.
Fully Aswar, who was in charge of the competition Mr Holland was supposed to be at, told the newspaper that the group had not told him they were going to Nusa Lembongan islet.
He said: "They went there of their own will. I only found out that he was missing when I checked the team for the next competition."
He said Mr Holland answered his mobile phone at 1400 local time (0600GMT) and said he was a few miles away from the shore but after that he could not be contacted.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman told the BBC: "Indonesian authorities have carried out extensive sea and air operations in their search for him."
In June, British divers Charlotte Allin, James Manning and Kathleen Mitchinson were rescued off the country's eastern coast after going missing for two days.

ABG race official stranded on unknown island

Asian Beach Games (ABG) British jetski race director Jeremy Holland is reportedly stranded on an unknown island.

"I managed to get through to him by cell phone, but he said he did not know where he was," Grace, an ABG official, told kompas.com Saturday morning.

"He then said he was thirsty," she said, adding that the contact was made Friday evening.

Meanwhile, search and rescue officers continued the search with the help of the Bali Police cyber crime unit in tracing the location of the call.

"The exact location is still unknown as the connection of the call was not that clear," a Bali police officer said.

Holland reportedly went missing when he and three other jetski race judges took off to Lembongan for a jetski ride.

He is thought to have lost his way en route back to Tanjung Benoa beach, one of the ABG locations.

Please keep Bob Crabtree, Peter Desmet and his girlfriend and all our British colleagues in your best wishes, the IJSBA staff with the exception of Mr. Scott Frazier is scheduled to leave Bali upon the completion of the Asian Beach Games. Mr. Frazier will stay as long as is necessary to attend to the search and recovery efforts of Jeremy. This affects our entire IJSBA staff, that which we consider to be a very tight knit family. Bob Crabtree was one of our Technical Directors at IJSBA World Finals and needs all the love and support he can receive from you. I consider Bob a valuable asset to our community and a dear friend as well and I can understand how difficult a situation this is for him. I consider these people to be team leaders and equals and 'unity' is our code, that is what I said at our IJSBA World Finals Staff meeting prior to the commencement of our first race, and it continues in fellowship. I am thinking of his wife and daughters, his family, this is anyone's worst nightmare and they are living it. I know that this community globally feels the shock of his news. Jeremy is a prize fighter, a pitbull, a warrior, I really love him a lot, as do all the staff, he's our pinch hitter. This bloke has more grit and determination than 3 men. I have tremendous faith in his mindset and capabilities having the pleasure to work with him.

The surrounding islands are being searched and open water beyond now. Still no recovery of the PWC or news about Jeremy. One of our friends in Bali just sent this message:



I have talked with Bali Research & rescue team about Jeremy and they told me that they spend about 8 hours today to find Jeremy and his Jetski but have no luck.
They were tried to research with sea water detector and Helicopter around Bali Island.
The research will be stop on next Friday.
I left my Mobile Phone number at their Office and they will give me a call as soon as they have new info about that.

Some searching is scaling back, which is normal after four days, typically on the average a 7 day search is valid, so this runs with the timelines. However there are many locals who are searching with village boats, and there is nothing that can compare to local knowledge. The last person missing in this area was recovered at sea after 4 days, on an island he would be making his own cigarettes if I knew Jeremy...! LOL

We at the IJSBA and the K38 Family remain hopeful and focused to finding Jeremy.

We are very sad to report that popular race director and IJSBA official, Jeremy Hoyland, has gone missing while riding a PWC in Bali Indonesia. Jeremy was brought to Bali as the race director for the Jet Ski Sport events of the 2008 Asia Beach Games. On October 24, the tides did not match the chart that was provided to us.

Therefore, racing was put off until the late afternoon so that competitors could race in the safest water conditions. The staff was given the morning and early afternoon off for personal time. Jeremy spent his time recreationally riding on a borrowed PWC and encountered mechanical problems which put him at the mercy of the currents. Helicopter search efforts began immediately upon the report of Jeremy not returning to the event site.

These search efforts are still underway and we are well within the time window where persons missing from a PWC ride in this region were found safely. As of today, there are 6 helicopters, 2 navy vessels, other official boats, and numerous private persons searching for him.

We ask that the public respect Jeremy’s family during this difficult time by avoiding speculation and participation in rumor spreading. There are currently numerous incorrect stories floating around in the Bali media and on the internet.

These statements can hinder rescue efforts and cause unneeded extra grief for Jeremy’s family, friends, and colleagues.
The IJSBA will update the PWC community with any news when we get it and verify the accuracy. We remain optimistic that the news will be good when we report it.

Search continues for lost Briton

Air and sea rescue crews are continuing the search for a British sea scooter official who went missing during the Asian Beach Games in Indonesia.
Jeremy Hoyland, 41, is believed to have disappeared on Friday during a trip to Nusa Lembongan islet, near Bali.
He failed to return in time to preside over a sea scooter race starting at nearby Tanjung Benoa beach.
Reports in Indonesia say boats and helicopters which had been escorting the race were diverted to the search.
Mr Hoyland was said to have gone with four friends on a leisure trip to the island, using borrowed sea scooters.
Bali Police chief Insp Gen Asikin Husein told the Jakarta Post: "On their way back, a member of the group said he was tired so Jeremy, who is an international jet ski master, offered to escort the group from behind.
"He didn't arrive at the base camp, however, when the others did."
'Sent text message'
Mr Husein said Mr Hoyland had sent a text message from his mobile phone around five hours after the others had returned to say he was about two miles from the beach.
The search was being concentrated to the south on the assumption Mr Hoyland had been dragged by a wave, he added. A Foreign Office spokeswoman confirmed Indonesian authorities were carrying out an extensive sea and air search for Mr Hoyland and that UK officials were providing support to his family. In June, British divers Charlotte Allin, James Manning and Kathleen Mitchinson were rescued off the country's eastern coast after going missing for two days.

Jeremy Hoyland is one of the IJSBA's International Race Directors, friend to many, and a loving father of 2 daughters and beloved husband of Jacqui, went missing in Indonesian waters off of Bali while on a leisure excursion during the 3rd week of October.

To date, multiple resources,have contributed in the Search and Rescue efforts of Jeremy. This has covered thousands of kilometers of water acreage, and shoreline involving both aircraft and watercraft.

This update comes on October 28, 1:30 PM local time in Bali. After numerous meetings and interviews with police and other officials, the authorities have agreed that there is good cause to continue the searching for missing official, Jeremy Hoyland.
Interviews with the technical officials of the Jet Ski portion of the Asia Beach Games led the authorities to conclude that the circumstances under which Jeremy went missing along with Jeremy’s ability to survive against the odds were substantial factors in extending the search efforts.
The PWC community would like to specifically thank the Bali Police especially the Chief of Police, the IJSBA, Fully Aswar, the Chief of the Navy, the Search and Rescue division of the Navy, the battleship commanders who allocated their time, the helicopter force and the private helicopter entities that joined, the capital of Jakarta for sending resources, the Army, Shawn Alladio and the extended K 38 Staff, and all of the private persons such as the local fishing community.
We appreciate that you are all doing everything possible to find our friend. We also would like to extend our appreciation to all of the friends and supporters that have offered their support, well wishes and resources towards this search effort.
