Eat plenty of Protien.Get it from grilled Fish, Chicken and lean red meat. Protien is Amino acids which are the building blocks of all muscle tissue. Supplement with a protien drink. Use Whey not Soy. Whey is the most biologically available and does not mimic estrogen like Soy.

Take branch chain amino acids as a supplement.

Have your carbs come from low glycemic index sources like Oatmeal and Sweet Potatoes. These will provide slow release consistant energy. Avoid adreanal stimulants like redbull or monster. They are full of sugar and spike blood sugar levels. The spike and crash roller coaster leads to fatigue and cortisol production. Cortisol stores fat and gives you that soft doughy belly. (Chicks dig a big gut....have another doughnut Jabba).

A higher glycemic index snack or drink is okay just after you train or ride. Fruit or Juice are a good choice.

Hydrate with water not Soda or Sports drinks they are full of sugar and corn syrup.

Good fats are needed for brain and nerve function. ALA's CLA's and omega-6's. You get these from alvacodo's, flax, nuts, cold water fish.

Bad fats are the saturated fats....avoid anything fried or made with transfatty acids which are a Frankenstien molecule created by the hydrogenation of oils (margerine or hydrogenated oils).

Stay away from processed foods ! If a cave man would not know it was food don't eat it! Avoid anything with Hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. Processed foods are like pouring syrup in your gas tank. If you want high performance from your body eat natural high performance foods.

H G H :shhh:

Look up Gigantism. See if that is a favorable place to be. I realize that was just a joke post but I see many people taking HGH and no ones asks how to Andre the Giant get that big. His was a disease that produce more HGH than normal. Oversized mandibles, hats dont fit. Side note - HGH is very expensive compared to its counter part (steroids) and takes a lot longer to notice the gains. The gains will be longer lasting but at what cost to your body.

well, some of the stuff you said is right, some is tangential. a constant flow of naturally produced growth from your pituitary gland will cause gigantism. i guess constantly injecting would too, though it would be the most expensive disease to acquire ever. indeed you will have to deal with some pretty lame side effects to make huge changes in your body mass, but as far as healing sports injuries and burning fat/adding lean muscle it wasn't a joke at all.

word on the street amongst people not associated with me in any way is that done properly and with a healthy respect for the fact that you are dealing with some pretty delicate systems you can safely do it. (and possibly hit a :):):):)load of homeruns?)

First off this is a completely uneducated statement. HGH has many, many health benefits. But like anything, everything in moderation. There are adverse health effects if one was to abuse it. HGH is not androgenic like steroids, hgh creates more muscle fibres unlike steroids which just expand existing muscle fibres(simply put). HGH is also well known for its fat burning capabilities.

There are down sides to HGH as well, too high of a dose could lead to gigantism. Distended stomach(do to the receptors in the intestines) like you see on many profesional bbers.

To many gh is considered the fountain of youth. I have trained many clients over the years who either self medicate or are on gh therapy.

Nothing preworkout except good old water. Post workout have a meal high in carbohydrates with some protein. I prefer the whole food route if possible, but shakes are quick to make and consume.

Big thing is to avoid caffeine and any stimulants like the plague. It wears and tears at your adrenal glands over time if your consuming it daily, and your energy levels will plummet as the years go on.

Multivitamin and mineral supplement is a good concept for pre workout. But make sure you are getting all the necessary vitamins and minerals taht you need. Some people considered that their muscle mass increases with the help of protein supplements that contain certain blends of amino acids, such as creatine and glutamine.

The whole idea behind a shake post workout is the absorption rate. Your muscles are starving after a workout. Along with spiking your insulin levels with a simple sugar, it helps transport the nutrients (including the protein shake) into the muscles where it is needed.

Whole food are great along with complex carbs, but they are slower digesting. Post workout meal is the most important meal of the day.
