tech 2000 $5 for a gallon at walmart.

any tcw3 oil will work just fine.

you can pay more for better oil, and get slightly better oil ( sometimes)

but its false economy, the oil cost over hundreds of hours of use is more than the cost of a top end.

most likely you could... 40:1 is the general mixing ratio of a PWC oil.

Agreed, I use Pennzoil %100 synthetic from Wal-Mart 20 buck a gallon and my last motor still looks great inside after four years of that oil. Very minimal build up in the chamber so I would say this oil worked out just fine for my application. I now have a ported motor with high compression and still no problems from Pennzoil and that last motor is now a spare sitting on the shelf.

probably, some oils are stated as air cooled or water cooled, and some have better corrosion inhibitors in them for marine or boat use.

there are about 1048 threads on what oil is best, and even polls on what folks use on this forum.

the search button is your freind.

can i use the same stuff i run in my dirtbike?

If you want it to smell good there are additives you can get from a speed shop or in my case local stock car shop that makes the exhaust smell like strawberry or cherry.

do they make castor 927 flavored?

I love that smell.

I need to try that pennzoil stuff, my only beef with the tech200 oil is the smell, it doesnt smell pleasant at all.

Thats a hole different game then the non synthetic crap that Flake is talking about..... Anything 100% synthetic should be good to go.

got data to back up the claim?

find me an engine that broke due to that oil.

I can only say, ive got HUNDREDS of hours on that oil, on various different boats, and ive never had a lubrication related failure.
