It's best to not have it under the hood. Sometimes you need to use it if you get rolled in the surf or something. Mine is in the stock chock hole.

I appreciate you guys opinions, and I have ran it in the tray for awhile, but I am looking to move it under hood, one less thing to slam a knee on hard bails, and she usually starts up peachy after she's hot.
Still looking for mounting options tho.....

I made a flat tab off of a girdle bolt. I prefer mine outside but the way my dash was built didn't leave a safe place for it.

I just got a strip of aluminium (from memory it was about 40mm wide and 4mm thick, possibly 100mm long) and had approximately 1/3 of it bent at 90 degrees in the shop. I then drilled a large hole in the 1/3 bit to fit the primer assembly and another two smaller holes in the longer section to match 2 threaded mounts bonded to the side of the hull that normally had a strip of steel bolted on to retain fuel lines (this was on an X2). Just mounted it near the carb and gave the primer a pump during pre-flight inspection.

I hope my description is clear enough for you to visualize. If you are desperate I could send you an image on the weekend once I'm at my storage unit.

Mines mounted under the hood as well. Always installed in the dash until I built my predator, rarely used it even getting rolled in the surf, just a few squirts for the initial startup of the day. I bent and drilled scrap of aluminum then turfed it. It sits on top of my battery held down by the straps. No issues to date.

Images of my set up as fitted to my X2. Superjets don't have the luxury of threaded mounts. Could possibly use cable ties or a hose clamp to attach it to the large exhaust hose running past the carb/carb's?

I don't like having stuff on my dash, mine is mount on the inside towards the back, I can crack the hood and reach my hand in there if need be. I'll look for a pic

Thanks everyone for the responses. I finally got around to picking a spot.

Found a strip of 1/8th inch aluminum and bent out a little bracket and turfed it.

I like the idea of a small bracket, the previous owner of my ski just left it under the battery strap. Works ok since I've only ever used it at the start of the day, and usually starts without any priming at all
