primer question

ok i have 2 primers and both don't work, they just pull out and auto spring back....

one of the i have had working all last summer and just a few weeks ago.

can it be the cold that is making it do that? or are they both broke?

Thanks,
Justin

wear items, replace them
I tried the bulb primers and they didnt last one season!
Get some new plungers and chuck the old ones in the trash

My bulb primer has been on my ski under the hood for 4 years without issue. But then again I never need to prime unless its been sitting for a long time.

I was gonna go to bulbs just cause I keep busting the knobs off the other ones. I pay $9 for the primer knob assembly, they are cheap!

Pull the plunger back and spray wd-40 in both barbs and pump until it begins working. Sometimes it'll take a few rounds of this, but I've never had to replace one because what you're describing. Ask Kennay.......:loser:

I have had to replace quite a few of them ,sometimes they just stop working, its just an o-ring in there that makes the seal, once thats trashed its over with.

The primers with the shaft and the neoprene bulb style just don't cut it anymore. Try the "weed wacker" style...cheaper, available in a few different styles. They don't break/leak as easy and are all plastic.
The only problem is the nipple where the 1/8" tubing attaches to is not barbed, therefore a couple drops of CA glue are needed to keep the hoses on securely.

ok guys i got it figured out .... i bought one from the local dealer,

and then my dumba$$ broke the 1/4x1/4 x1/8 plastic tee :banghead:

so i used what i had and found out there was an air lead, so i think my primer was good

I went to just about every hardware/lawnmower store I knew of last season and not one of them had primers. I did find one that sold the clear plastic bulb... Ended up breaking down and ordering a new one. $12 for a primer $8 for shipping and $3-$4 in gas running around town looking for something else so that I wouldn't have to order...:grumble:
