Its this just jetskiing? Racing I can see, but riding around and doing tricks.... Come on. Shouldnt it be if you have A jetski (not lacking major safety componants) you can compete. Who cares?

I'm no genius and I will never compete but isn't "ride what you bring" a standard and a guideline.

I mean just for pro.

my .02

i think freestyle should be what its called, FREE style. do what ever you want, ride what ever you want, run what ya brung!
i guess you could have a set of tricks you have to perform...in QUALIFYING, bottom line there is not enough competetors and not enough tricks to even do that.
there needs to be new tricks and the only way to do that is to un-limit the class. 10 backflips and 15 barrel rolls are cool but how long have people been able to do this? same with hood tricks......what year are we in.....1983?
there needs to be ramps, logs, i dunno...quarter pipes for re-entrys....
there needs to be big sponsors and progression or this sport is going to become.....D E A D.

just my .02 which is just that......02

Gil and BK.. I dont agree with if you can backflip your a pro in the flat !
I can roll, sometimes 2 in a row. and I can get anything with and 850 motor and trim to backflip in the flat... and I can barely do a setup wake.. lol
As for a hood trick ! I CANT DO A ONE ! so what is that ! LOL
maybe a hood ride, but i cant get back to tray if I had to.
Or a fountain but that would be to get a buddy drenched... lol

I might be a Pro rider in the surf, but am. in the flat !

What about when someone comes out with a 1400cc? If they can hang on to it shouldn't they be allowed to compete on it?

Well I said it and Pat backed it up. This is what I now think about competing in 09-

I show up for the weekend on Friday afternoon w/my 11,700.00 oem hull superjet, spend 900.00 to compete for the weekend and get my azz handed to me by everyone that has deeper pockets than me. It will now be mandatory to perform a flatwater backy in AM freestyle just to place.
My honest opinion is now freestyle comp will be judged on who spends the most money.

I'm not a complete moron and I do realize that any motorsport is that way to a point, but, we just raised the price tag in AM by 10000.00.

Way to grow the competition. I do hope Mike and Patrick read this and heed this for the APBA even though I really don't think they give a dam.

I do agree that PRO needs to be 'run wut u brung'.

I keep telling myself that freestyle comp is all about having fun. The stupid truth is I want to win sooo bad I can't see straight. Oh well, I guess I will see how all this plays out and quit bitching.

So many rules for such a small sport. I can't believe people are spending 50k on skis to compete, isn't this one of those pro sports where you can't quit your day job? Is there really any money in it or just bragging rights in your circle of friends??? We recently had a pro race at my local lake and there was literally 3 spectators, I was one of them.

No money in it. You compete for a 5 dollar plaque and because it's fun.?.?
I mean used to be fun. Now that a 2nd mortgage is a requirement I think the fun factor is gone.

i was at the world finals last year and i thought then that it could of been better to watch i agree that you should have to perform hood tricks as well as ariel tricks to make the routine flow from one trick to the next
as far as rules i agree there should be a cc limit and saftey requirements other than that run what you brung
amature needs a set of rules as stated before otherwise it is he who spends the most wins 900cc limit and oem hull
