Well Steve you were right about this becoming an interesting thread. MADMAT I think you missed the whole point! No actually I know you missed the whole point.

I probably did....I'm just messin.

I don't know much about the service of either.....

But I have had a lot of pipes....and B pipes proved to be the best.

just because you can only afford ghettosakis from peoples' backyards, doesnt mean that SJs and b pipes arent all theyre hyped up to be. theres a REASON people choose SJs and b pipes...... and its not because its 'the norm'. nothing about standups conforms to 'the norm', anyway.

Nice one Charlie !!! Did u ever stop and think that maybe that is ALL he can afford at the moment? Or that maybe he does not have to keep up w/the Jones to be happy? I have known u for a good while now and dam sure enjoy watching u win the battle of the wits on a regular basis-but this is pretty low rent for you-choose your battles wisely. You are a very intelligent man and know exactly what I am saying here.

I think this thread went south at post #2.

I have not used a Pro Tec pipe, but have ridden skis with them and they seem fine. But I don't feel this was the point of this thread.

I think Pro-Tec is definately worth a positive thread for service.
Having been in this sport for quite a few years I have dealt with a lot of vendors/businesses.
Pro-Tec's services are always fast and reliable. In addition, thery are extreamly knowledgable and helpful. I have had a couple uncommon questions and they knew exactly what I was talking about. I feel like I'm talking to people who ride or work on these things themselves.

Kidos to Pro-Tec for great service! :cheer2: and good parts, even if you are not a fan of their pipes, they are still producing parts: intakes, rideplates, nozzles, ect. They even have a pretty good catalogue.

ProTec makes good pipes and has GREAT customer service
I had a question about my ProTec stainless A body pipe
that they dont even make any more.
Sent email and got a good, accurate response the same day!
THATS customer service!!! :woot:

That all being said, going to a FPP B Pipe during this winters build in my primary ski . . . .

My home away from home.
The RN I picked up had a protec cast 760 head on it. Although I didn't know that it was a 760 at the time. 61x cylinder was bored and the port timing changed. The guy I spoke with at protec was extremely helpful and patient. Definately a good service company.

We are a Pro-tec dealer and have the new exhausts on our site...

Also you can modify any exhaust system for water injection!!! We had to do that to our Coffman Rocket Exhaust back in the day and it works... You just need to know where to put the water injection for what powerband your after!!!

I do agree that FP has the worst service and they think there the best out there!!! Pro-tec helps and is a great company!!!

I will say this $495.00 for a brand spanking new FX1 pipe, I think if I had an FX1 I would give it a shot.I will be running a Pro-tec pipe on the SN since I have one here.

Sorry for posting about the actual topic, but I had a bit of a different experience with Protec when trying to get o-rings for one of their cast 701 heads. Long story short, there are two versions of this head requiring two different size orings and they either don't realize it or don't admit it.

Aaaaannnnd, I have dealt with fp a number of times and my only complaint is that they put pwc production priorities at the bottom of their list.

I ran a Pro Tec cast pipe on my FX1 for a while. It was the sinlge head mount. It would break the bolt tht goes on the head about every 20 hours or so. Pro relaced it with the dual mount
Great CO But I still run a b-pipe Better pipe IMHO
