Hi guys I have a dasa 800, 8mm stroker with PV's. I'm having problems not having low end power out of it. It's a 8mm stroker with PV's, msd total loss, Vforce reeds, dual 46mm full specs, power factor pipe, 144mm solas mag pump, 9/15 hooker, nozzle bored to 85mm. Motor is running 215psi compression. Any help would be great thanks.

saying it doesnt have low end power is about as vague a description as you could possibly list. with that description, you are going to get every possible answer known to man and if the correct answer is in there, you are never going to know it, due to all the wrong answers. i get calls all the time with questions like, it doesnt run right, whats wrong with it? to diagnose a problem, use a process of elimination. determine what its NOT. that sounds like the same short block i'm running in my green freak and it has huge bottom end.

In all seriousness...try describing what's going on in detail. Does the motor run clean on the bottom end? Is the pump cavitating?
Who set up the motor and pump? Have you talked to that person?

motor runs clean all around it doesn't cavitate at all. it hits hard in the mid and top just no bottom end power. no bogs lean spots nothing of the sort just lacking power down low. i'm not spinning the prop nothing.

Could it just be the way it was ported? Can you talk to who ever built the motor and get some info from him about it? I would think the 9/15 hooker would be way under propped. I used that in a ported 701 and had good low end for a 701.

I'd imagine that prop isn't too far off...maybe a single pitch up would be all I'd go for on ur Dasa. Everyone pretty much knows you've got to get these engines spooled up to hit. Ur setup seems like it should have some hit. TL and propping down really woke up my 4mil/900. What ignition? R u sure the ignition is setup right?

Ignition is the digital but its not the newest version that is out right now mine only has the single pickup. It's my first time running tl not sure if its set up right but just going off of other specs. Not sure how exactly it should be set.

Old style pv (you need too turn out) or new style pv (you need to change spring), it can be the setting of pv's..........or not. You're under propped too, 11/17 can be better.
I've cast dasa +8mm with 83mm pistons, 13.5kg of compression, novi's 48, atp TL, skat mag pump setback and 11/17 works very well for me (with nozzle bored to 85.5mm)

I like running a smaller impeller to get the bottom end hit on my ss 781. 9/15 h gets me on the pipe easier and quicker than my old 10/16 h. TL, PFP etc, but at 5,000' elevation. I foresee propping down happening more often. It just works for a hard hit.

But I think the guys that have more experience with different set ups need more specific info from you. Carb jetting and screw settings, tl settings etc...
