Project farm recently posted a damaged thread repair video. I personally have always used helicoils because they are not expensive and I have never had one fail.

Saw that one too! Seems like it would be wise to put in a thread repair device regardless if using aluminum.

EZ Loks for the win! I’ve used them for years, good to see this vid confirming what I always suspected.

Looks like helicoil did fairly well in the testing, and after all the smack talk about not using helicoils

I either use heli-coils or ez-loks depending on how um clearanced out the hole is.
