PROK filter - this ever happen to anyone else?

Riding yesterday and all a sudden down to one cylinder. Popped the hood and the clear plastic tornado insert thingy in my PROK filter got sucked right down onto my carb adapter.

This ever happen to anyone else and do ya think there is any warranty for manufacturers defects they would honor?

The exact same thing happened to me in the Niagara river in heavy rapids.....and I think it was my first time there! I was like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I made it down river on 1 cylinder!

OEM only EVER SINCE!

I have thrown nice clean usable aftermarket ones right in the garbage. I couldn't even bring myself to give them to someone let alone sell them......because they are less than crap. I will poop on top of my carbs and ride before one of those dang things ever see the inside of my garage again!

I have heard of others having the same experience as Mat but yet, I have had them on every ski I have owned for the last 14 years and not had one single issue.

I must not be riding hard enough... :(

Their main weakness is making contact with the hood. A buddy finally bought a set and landed hard upside down in the surf the first ride with them and they are done. I don't get upside down at all so mine should last forever. ;)

Ask the person you bought them from if they're relatively new, but otherwise, ProKs are very hit or miss on quality...

That is our experience as well. Some people dont have any problems, but some have them fall apart quickly. We have much better results with the tau ceti filters.

Australia already has a base that fits any carbs to OE flame arrestor top....a surf armor version would be very nice to see and bomb proof I'm sure!

701Dave sells the complete unit, from base to tops. Looks like a pretty decent unit too.

I was thinking more along the lines of a bullet proof version similar to Prok's or Tau Cetis for the guys who prefer low profile.

Dude how YOU have not broken one is beyond me! You go huge!

What motor mounts have you killed and which ones do you like?

Never had a one fail. I think a misaligned motor that vibrates is the cause to some of them. I laugh when guys start their skis and the motor looks like it's about to jump out.
This is what mine does! How do I fix it?
