That's the point of the thread.... I realize pitch is entirely dependent on rider preference, I went thru 4 on my last set-up until I was happy... The 950 is on a friends boat... Isn't the lower the number the less aggressive? I know jack all about impellers... Title of the thread is for a Dasa 950 that's what I'm looking for
That is one of those "It depends" answers. Depends on pump, nozzle size (reduction), Pump Cone Size. Lower Numbers mean lower pitch, less power typically to spin up, Higher Numbers mean Higher pitch, more power to spin up.
But, again, pitch is just a base line. It all depends on your setup. If your porting is more race porting and you wanted more bottom end, pitch down to get the motor to spin up faster to get into the powerband. If your porting is more for lowend, Then you would want a lower pitch unless you wanted a little more top end. There are so many different variables.
When I ordered by 10/16 Hooker I was running 84mm big bore with stock pump and bored nozzle. Dave said to go with the 10/16. I was thinking weird, because so many guys with Lamey 85mm stroked etc etc were running 9/15's. Dave was spot one. A year later I had to swap back to my TLR ported 82mm cylinder. I was thinking, well, this prop is probably to steep. Not really, I could stand a little lower pitch, but it still works really well.
