Other Proper winter battery maintainence

I forgot!
Cooler is better. The concrete is a myth. Cool dry concrete is ideal. A small acid battery can loose 1% charge a day. More if moisture is present. Cooling the battery slows the reaction in the battery and helps slow down the discharging. That is what I was taught and go with that. I have batteries in the equipment that freeze outside all winter but are just fine in the spring to start the motor. Other batteries seem to go bad when the damp cooler weather arrives in the fall. Batteries. You just never know it all.
