Pulling Engine-which gaskets?

Keeping this short guys. Pulling my engine to replace the 4 motor mounts I broke. I plan on keeping the carb and exhaust in the hull to minimize wiring/tube disconnect. The only 2 gaskets i need are the intake and exhaust, correct?

Anyone recommend on pulling the carb and exhaust out with the engine?

Lastly, any preventative maintenance that I should do while the engine is out? Like the starter?

Stock Engine with stock exhaust in a sj will come out complete with exhaust and cabs mounted on it. No need to separate. You will have a harder time trying to remove carbs in the hull, than if you just leave them on the engine and disconnect fuel lines, and cables. (2 each)

Replace your mounts, and make sure to align engine upon install.

How did you break all four mounts already?! Are you riding a lot of big surf? While the engine is out pull out your midshaft and make sure your driveshaft is aligned. Also take the time to line your engine up properly. And look into replacing the mounts with waveraider/couch mounts. They are much beefier.

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for all the info!

Pulled the engine today, all the engine mounts were broke and in bad shape. Excited about getting the new rhaas mounts in.

Anyways, the problem I ran into today was trying to get the midshaft housing unstuck from the hull? It looks like the previous owner or the Yamaha factory used silicon of some sort between the housing and the hull. I tried muscling it off, but wouldn't budge. Any recommendations on getting this thing off?

Seriously,maybe a small puddy knife you can work around where the midshaft meets the hull.Take your time and be easy
