Pump differences

I am considering upgrading from a 155 oem pump to a mag pump

What's the difference or how do the pumps rate?
Looking at a few

Thrust
Torrent
Bun
Skat
No name o ring pumps off the X

Seen quite a few thrusts for sale

For a flatwater ski

Dont know if he is still doing them or not but @JetManiac used to sell skat 155 mag stator sections that used the OEM wear ring. These pumps were excellent for the $$ with outstanding gains in performance. I always liked this design for making pump/prop adjustments as well.

There is Bobby. Skat still does them. Thats the reason for the one pc design we developed. Too many failures from galvanic corrosion, freeze thaw, and improper alignment, welds etc. if you dont send your wear ring in they can be off on concentricity. You save a few bucks now but...FYI BDB Customs for the win. Lol. Great seeing you in Daytona

The trex fab o-ring pumps are the best bang for the buck, around 1500. Torrent ninja pro is the best money can buy currently, but is 4500.

I'd recommend setback, I wouldnt even consider a non setback.

The torrent 155 is on sale right now at 1750. It has definitely proven itself to be solid pump

Good info here. I should have stated that its been a while since I ran this particular pump and when I did, I purchased everything new. If that deal on the torrent 155 pump is true that is a killer deal for a great 1-piece pump with proven performance.

Great seeing you in Daytona as well. You put together the best Daytona Freeride I have ever been to!

FYI, its 1K for the pump and 3500 for the Sticker. Actually I cant even afford the Ninja Stickers yet. We have them designed, but not printed.

Honestly, were working every day to bring the best quality and most cost effective pumps to you. Were not a business, were riders that chose to do this because were passionate about our sport. My Avitar was my second ever flat water back flip at WF a few years back with the new, at the time 155; thanks to Evan Krefski for coaching me. Our riders run the logos because they are passionate about Torrent, not because they are paid. We dont even supply the logos! If you want the best pump ask around and see what you find. Were confident that if you buy another pump, many do based on price only and not total pump/package performance. We will be here when you need us. In our experience its easier, less stressful, and more cost effective to do it once and go ride. We made these in the first place because we ran the others and had failures, not to start a business. FYI I even had to pay for my Ninja, sold it once and had to borrow a PRO riders till I could afford another. It is that much of a difference from cheaper brands. Some Pro riders get free pumps from another pump supplier, they still buy ours, why becasue they perform better, Period.

Sorry for the late response here guys! Thank you for all the feedback. I went into this basically knowing that Torrent was number one, I just wanted to hear feedback on everything else on the market to see if its worth while selling my oem 155 pump and running something cheap like a thrust for an upgrade in performance, or to not waste my time because the upgrade in performance is minimal. Well you guys have answered my question, Ill keep my 155 OEM for now until I can afford one of these torrents or atleast a used torrent, the jetmaniac quick alternatives sounds interesting just changing the stator, but ultimately I need a torrent and thats where I will set my sights on for next year.
Thanks again! I am so excited to get this ski built

If your really interested in a torrent pump I would be willing to sell my 155mm pro series just so that I can upgrade to the ninja pump for next year torrent pumps are number one and love being part of the torrent team.

Are you saying that all the riders with the BIG TORRENT sticker on the jetski is paying full retail price for the torrent pump? and not giving a "sponsored discount" ?

A sponsored discount of what? Half off? Those margins don't exist in this sport. Maybe they get 100-150 bucks off? The TORRENT stickers I run on my ski cost 125, and I paid for them even after paying retail! I'd be interested to hear what you think these discount amounts are.

Forget about the ninja pump, the price is the price, and the pros are paying retail for it after talking to them first hand in daytona.

Christian we are a small one person company with low margins making pumps becasue we love the sport and we weren't happy with where the market was, so we changed it.

Yes ask around, every rider, even the ones with the huge logos are paying for their pumps. They do it because they believe in Torrent, and I ask them to, if they agree they do, if they dont they dont. There are a bunch not running the huge logos. If you have a hull, everyone sees it and knows the brand, if you change pumps no one knows without the advertising.

We have never paid for any of those huge logos other than the ones on my personal ski. Its because were honest, and go out of our way to service our riders who are our freinds, not business customers. Period. Its not a business, its about the sport. Hell most of the sponsored riders with the original 148's, 155s and 155 PRO's now Ninjas paid way more than a normal customer would to have the original trial and test units years before commercial release. Ask any of the riders with the huge logos. the original price three years ago on a Ninja was 7500. Now they are 4500. If they keep selling we will make more and the price will drop. Eco 101 supply and demand.

Thats why the 148 are at 1145.00 now they were 2K+ 7 years ago. Frosty paid close to 3K for his and is a sponsored rider. He begged me to sell it to him for that after running the other brands prior. FYI hes still on the OG pump, bearings and shaft of our first ever made prototype. He definitely lost 2+K by buying that pump. Did we rip him off, or is he still happy, ask him why he runs the logos.

Chase is on this thread, Chase why do you run the Logos, who paid for those super cool logos? fast superjet chase

Okai, just to get this straight, none of the sponsored riders with the big stickers are getting any discount on the daily retail price on a given pump? And they have to pay themself for the big sticker? :)

In no world or universe can you justify a price of 7500 usd pump, without a good profit margin - hell im not saying you shouldnt make a decent profit on your products, but making it sound like you make no money is just funny IMO
