SX/SXi/SXi Pro pump nipple busted, how do I fix?

Location
Orlando
My '88 650sx was running great, but no water would come out the pisser. My buddy was riding it while I was out on my other ski.

Needless to say, he tried to remove the two hoses coming in from the pump on the inside wall of the ski below the dash and in doing so completely broke the nipple off.

It is the nipple coming in from the pump on the exhaust side of the ski on the back wall.

Is this nipple replaceable? Is this an inlet or an outlet?

He says he can glue it back, but I have my doubts about that and fear that the glue may obstruct the opening and cause more problems.

Ideas?

You will need to put a new tube through the hull. You probably have plastic lines in the hull. The older Kawies did. I have broke one or two off in my day too.

Drill it out with a long drill bit. Some weld extensions onto a bit to do it. Look up or search a through hull dual cooling. Protec used ot sell a kit that came with a tube and a drill bit. You will have to epoxy the tube in the hull. The engine will probably need ot be pulled to do it.

On a 650 SX, one line is for a drain, so you can witch the hoses around and just block off the drain line. Since you have an aftermarket pipe, this is probably your best bet.

here's a pic of the damage. Sorry for the tiny pic of the firewall. I was too lazy to remove the exhaust now.

My buddy is an airplane mechanic, he's got some pretty strong epoxy if I decide to glue it.

How long are the tubes from the firewall to the pump tunnel? I would like something more permanent, but if it's too much work......

Also, this is the return line the one that is broke? I'm having trouble trying to figure out why nothing is coming out the pisser.

I removed the ride plate today to discover this: see pics.

How hard is it to run new plastic lines or rubber lines?

Man I would be more worried that you engine ran with no cooling what so ever!

You will need a long piece of 3/8" OD stainless steel tubing and a long 3/8" drill bit. try the protec kit, google Protec, once there look for their "dual cooling kit". And also try McMaster Carr

You will most likely have to pull the engine and the pump. Drill a little from each side, hoping they meet up in the middle. Then epoxy the tubing in place. I would do both if you have it all apart.

Good luck. Search on these forums for trinity composites or refoaming. You can see some pics of skis apart and what the cooling lines look like.

I did the duel cooling search. That kit install seems like I'd have to do some cutting of the footwell deck. There isn't an easier way?

So could I just drill from the pump end or do I need to remove the motor and go in thru both sides? Drill thru the existing tube still inside the hull?

I figure I can find the stainless tubing locally pretty easily.
