Freestyle Pump set up ?'s

My current set up is a pretty beat ported limited 771, stock pump, with 9 / 15 hooker.

I'm looking to get some more hit out of it and have heard of guys running much bigger motor - pump combos and setting up the pump to slip a bit, to get it more into the power band when it hooks. I'd like to get mine to slip a tad, then hook. Anybody played with this, or is it a give Art a call thing? Art is a genius...

You could experiment on your own by adding washers behind your prop to move it away from the stator vanes. I don't see that being an improvement for a stock pump, though. A 12 vane hooks up quicker, so I can see the need for some riders to add a very small amount of hesitation to their hookup to make them easier to ride with big hp setups.
