Pump Stuffer for Freestyle?

Bought a race boat and converted it to a FS boat a few years back. I just put a Solas 13/17 dominator prop on it an noticed it has the worx scup grate/ pump stuffer combo. Im not sure if this is a good or a bad thing for FS? Whats everyone else using for the intake on a FS boat? Any feedback would be great.

just a regular scoop intake grate

If you dont care about re-selling it you can just cut the stuffer off of the grate.

Cool selling means I have to buy a new one, so does everyone agree this is a smart move? Why is the stuffer worse in FS but better in racing?
I'm thinking waterflow at high end but it would be nice to understand better.

Heres Blowsions version and now I get the idea, its all about top speed. Taking out the dremel tonight unless anyone in the Sacramento area want to make a swap.
