Purchase or not to Purchase?

I am debating on purchasing the following superjets. Does it sound like a fair price? This will be my first superjet purchase I would love all the advice i can get. Below is all the information provided and I do have pictures of the crack.

I have a pair of yamaha super jet 650's a 91 and a 93 model. The 91 650 is virtually stock except for a ocean pro extended ride plate,
stainless skat impellar, pjs grips, scoop intake for better
hook-up in rough water $1300..

The 93 is the bad boy....701 cc protec ported cylinders, protec cylinder head, rejetted carb, wet jet pipe modified for superjet, scat impellar
shortened turn plate, 4 degree extended freestyle bars and aftermarket grips, electric bilge pump..it pumps out close to 85hp..considering it made 52 stock thats a nice improvement..$2300 (The high performance ski at one point had a crack in it..It has been repaired stronger than the area was before the crack but it is still there and I dont want there to be any surprises)

Seems a bit high compared to others on here, but it's not outrageous. I've got that much in my SJ with the purchase price and the price of converting it from a 650 to a 701. Really comes down to how available they are in your area I think. Plus its the middle of the season so that always bumps prices up.

The Stocker Price is inline, but $2300 for a ported and bore 6m6 motor seams a little high. I seen some Roundnose in that price range lately.
Just my 2 cents.

I would not buy the second ski for that price.....cracked hull is never good....

Haha, this is funny. He specifically called me to ask me not to tell you how much he paid. I was asking $2900 and he negotiated me down from there. He said he has put some work into them since then, but I can't image what he had to do.

1993 Superjet, it's the older body style (lovingly called "Squarenose" while the new ones are "Roundnoses") However the bottom hull is EXACTLY the same as the 2007 Yamaha Superjet. We call this one "XLR8" derived from the graphic on the side. I built this ski last year as a spare for friends who wanted to ride. It is fast and reliable.

701cc 2 stroke engine - must use 93 octane pre-mixed with 2 stroke oil 40:1
cylinder is pump gas ported by Protec ($744! http://www.pro-tecperformance.com/cylindersandsleeves.htm )
Protec rec cylinder head ($220 http://www.pro-tecperformance.com/cylinderheads.htm )
single 44mm carb rejetted for max performance
Wet Jet exhaust pipe modified for Superjet (adds about 20% more horsepower)
total horsepower is about 80 now (originally it was 52 so it's a significant change)
stainless steel Skat Trak impeller ($200)
Most if the sweet early 90's graphics are gone. YEAH! Has authentic race numbers on it so you can fool your friends into thinking you are a pro....until they see you fall
Shortened turn plate, 4 degree extended freestyle bars and aftermarket grips ($150)
electric bilge pump to empty out water in hull after your freestyle tricks
Scoop Intake for better hook-up in rough water ($120)
Hydro-Turf on the deck
Hydroturfed chin pad
2.5 Gallons of pre-mixed gas in it. This ski is 100% lake ready. We rode it for a couple hours on Saturday.

This is a GREAT beginner or intermediate ski. There is a crack on the left side on the top deck. About where the number 8 is on the side. I has been repaired on the inside. It is a TOUGH repair. If you hit it you will break your hand before you break the ski.

Has clear TX title and is currently tagged

This is a stand-up style jet ski. Many people call them the "old style." While they certainly aren't as popular as the sit down ski (or "couches" as stand up guys call them) they are about 10x more fun. If you haven't ridden one before it's kinda like a motorcycle but without that fear of scraping yourself on pavement. They do require a little bit of coordination, but not too much. The first couple of times out riding you will get a SOLID working routine of swimming, and climbing back on. Once on and standing your entire body will be tense because you have no idea what muscles make the craft do what. After a few times out you will be riding with ease. I've got race cars, sit down jet skis, ATV's, all kinds of toys and stand-up jets skis are my absolute favorite.

If you need someone to ride with, we go out on Lake Lewisville almost weekly and we don't mind teaching beginners, especially female cheerleader types.

This is a GREAT beginner ski. It is 100% stock (with the sole exception of an Ocean Pro air filter) and has not been messed up by some inexperienced mechanic. The top hull has some nicks, scuffs and scratches from storage. A couple minutes with a white touch up pen and some new TX registration numbers will go a long way in dressing up this ski.

I did not post these for sale on the X because usually people come here AFTER they buy a Superjet.

The truth about these skis:

Both were ridden by me and several beginners just days before I sold them. Both start easy and run great. They probably need handle pole bushings and the poles show some wear, but what SN pole doesn't?

The 93 was a fun project. That is an old Super Stock (or Modified?) race ski. I bought it from a retired racer. The crack is from getting T-boned during a race. It is patched with kitty hair/filler on the back side and it's SOLID. When I bought it it had 62T cases, a 61X bored out to 760cc, some CRAZY aggressive porting, 48mm Novi carbs, total loss, etc. ATS_Scott got that motor and still runs some of the parts. I built the 650/701 engine in it out of left overs from the skis here at the shop:

used Yamaha 701 pistons
6M6 cylinder ported by Pro-Tec and later resleeved to 701 sleeves (used to belong to Slymo?)
61X cases
used crankshaft (felt good, no noises)
6m6 44mm carb rejetted to Factory Pipe B-pipe specs
WetJet pipe cut and welded to fit a SJ
Protec 650 recereation head (not the newer o-ring style) that had the squish recut for 701 bore

The only trouble I ever had with that ski was blowing head gaskets. It did it like 3 times....but then I switched to a genuine Yamaha 701cc head gasket and the problem has not come back. Even with the blown head gasket it still ran good, haha. It just made a horrible gurgling noise out of the pisser.

I have seen two much newer RN SJ's sell for about what the owner is asking for this 93.
