Q about the rubber caps on a roundnose?

one of my friends is putting holds in his 06' sj, he can't get the rubber caps off the gunwales. aren't they just glued on?? i've never been around a roundnose that still had them on....he lives about 3 hrs from me, so i can't just go look. also he got some mixture screws from blowsion and they didn't fit, not the right thread....does the 06' have diff carbs or something??? i haven't seen any of this yet, so i don't have anything to look at to get my own answers

yes they are jst glued on. YANK on them

They are actually glued on rather strong. I had to peal them back and cut away with a razorblade as I pulled it back.

And the carbs on '04 and up Sj's have brass blockoff caps over the screws that need to be removed before you can change the mixture settings.

ya, done that but the threads on the screws are diff. from the one's he got from blowsion

he's called them, they're checking it out and trying to find out what the deal is.

those rubber caps have studs and nuts on them. feel up under the lip there and you will feel them. remove the nuts and they will come right off. no glue.

i talked to blowsion they dont no anything yet. but the low screws that came out of the carbs are fine thread and the high is standard whats up with that
