Question about intake and reeds

Hi,

I've been trying to search for info about this, but it is not so easy when you are a stupid Swede, and dont know what everything is called...

However, I took my 62T engine apart last week, planning to fill the crossover in the intake manifold, and make some port matching between the intake and the reeds. (My Boyesen reed cages does not match the intake manifold at all..)

Just wondering about the thin (just 1-2mm) spacer that is between the manifold and the reeds. In this spacer/plate just to keep the gasket from flaping in the crossover area?

When I fill the crossover, can I remove this spacer and just use one gasket between the intake manifold and the reed cages?

I hope you understand what I mean. :)

Hej!
Never seen any posts about this. Haven't look at a/m intakes; how do they look? Just the gasket?
Hopefully someone else knows more?

Tjena!

Will try to upload a picture tomorrow.

If you look from the intake and towards the reeds, the order is:
intake manifold-gasket-spacer plate-gasket-reed cages.

Seems that I have no use for the spacer if I fill the crossover.
So my thinking goes:
Intake manifold-gasket-reed cages.

But a picture is coming up tomorrow!

Where's the pic, I was about to ask the same question. I've bolted my intake and carbs on and was checking the parts schematic, and notice it called for the spacer and I dont have one. Whats your intake look like?

Here comes the pictures.

One is on the spacer itself, and the other in on the intake manifold and reeds. The question is if I can mount the reeds directly on the intake as in the picture (but ofcourse with the gasket in between). Because when I fill my crossover the spacer seems totally useless to me...

Bad pictures, I know...
