I dont have footholds in my ski yet either. I would like to install them this winter but I must say I'm pretty nervous about cutting my tray. I dont have any experience with fiberglass but trying to do anything without them sucks.

guys have you never worked with glue before?
everyone seems to think fiberglass work is some huge mystery and takes all sorts of talent to use. in my experience its the easiest and cheapest thing to get into and use effectively. even if you do mess up its just fiberglass and you can cut it out and redo it without worry. just remember the strength comes from the fiberglass, the resin is just a binder.
many many resources online to learn from.

I personally do not think 24-7 footholds are a good design... they do not keep your feet locked in very well at all.... I have personally witnessed on 2 skis... I run watercraft factory holds, but there are prob a couple good ones...

You can almost do a sub without holds if you squeeze the sides of the tray really hard. holds or straps make almost everything easier though.

Gimme a break - spoiled new school freestylers (j/k). You can definitely do a jump sub with no footholds. I quit riding for 7yrs and just got a SN last month so I haven't chopped it up yet - I can dive subs all day. You can also learn power 360's, marriots, superman, sprung monkeys/ballbusters, and if you want to you could also do fountains/backwards hood tricks which seem to be out of style these days. I also like to do invert subs, which is a good first step toward barrel rolls - and you can do these with lifters.

I can't wait to get my footholds in myself, but mainly just so I can learn rolls. Footholds are a fairly new development in freestyle - watch some old Larry Ripenkroeger, Scott Watkins, Lloyd Berlew, etc.

I was riding my cousins ski last year and was able to do nice broncos/ nose stabs with no foot holds but I wouldn't suggest it if you don't already know the technique for doing them. I've mastered it on my ski with footholds and now can easily do it with a stocker.

Cheers,

Anthony

I like my Watercraft factory holds on my square you really need holds to attempt rolls and flips "safely" haha but they are nice for nose stabs and any real ski working at all

get lifters for now........until you get the holds in. I bought the Blowsion ones just to help me get better. Im to the point where I can do the inverted nose stabs (crappy at best) but ultimately they will work until winter. And better than nothing.

Bars that go on the sides of the tray (I think they are made of a similar material to turf) to help you lift the rear of the ski with your feet.
