quick oil question klotz vs amsoil

Anyone know which is better, amsoil dominator? or Klotz Super Techniplate? This is going to be run in stock 701 right now. I've used the klotz before, the ams description leads me to believe its more of a race motor oil? ams is a bit cheaper though.

Cool, like I said I can get the ams a little cheaper.. but I have used klotz in the past. This is just a stock motor for now..

any reason you prefer klotz?

I have had GREAT success with the Klotz Benol but I have no experience with Amsoil other than what I have read which by the way has always been positive.

Avoid Klotz KL-100 and KL-200. These are glycol based made for alcohol and will partially mix with water. Not good for corrosion protection which is a big problem with PWC.

Forget about Klotz, it mixes with water and alcohol and is going to violate your sister (or your ski).

On the serious note, I would always prefer the Amsoil Dominator. It's just a better oil IMO.


And please, please no comments about Astroglide being better than Vaseline or whatever, they both are on sale every other week, and I have no idea what you are talking about...

Hate to open up another can of worms, but is there any real performance differance between Amsoil Dominator and the Interceptor? I was thinking running the Interceptor because it's supposed to burn cleaner. I have a feeling it's more of a choice of personal preference. I ride the surf alot, but tend to ride the ICW at full throttlle for miles at a time when I feel like touring the country side.
I'm orignally a pensoil XLF synthetic blend fan, but that was a stock 650 with a sizzler pipe. Now I will be running basically a limited 701 and want to step up the oil as well. I was thinking of running the full synthetic Pensoil, but for a little more i can run the Amsoil.

Ahhh…the perils of working from home I understand all too well dear Mr. Big Yankee! I liked this vid too, but I still like the one I sent you to post up to Gil in the PWC camper thread, and you didn’t :squint: (it was perfect)!

No need to spend more money the pensoil 100% synthetic is a fine oil.
