I am looking to buy myself some for my X2. McMaster Carr does have them. However I am buying some different from the ones listed on Dustin's thread. The ones he has listed have the plastic button to release them. I will be using the ones with the stainless steel release button. I believe they are called acetal on the page. If you are looking for them. Simply go to the McMaster home page. In the upper left of the page the first paragraph will have hyperlinks of tubing related stuff. Click the "quick disconnect" link.
Here is my worry though... I have a female one already for a flush kit that has the shut off feature when it is disconnected. This is a must since you don't want water comming out of it. I have used it before many years with no problems. But on my other water lines, do you really need the shut off? Only thing I can think of is if you don't get one connected correctly and it pops off. You don't want your engine's main cooling line pumping water into you engine bay. However you don't want your engine going without water too!
I am buying some for both my fuel and water lines. I already have one Jet Works restricter/quick disconnect for my return fuel line. For the fuel lines, I will get the shut off versions both male and female. No need to be dripping fuel. When you disconnect them. For the water lines, I will just get the open versions for both male and female. Final concern is is they will impeed the water/fuel flow any.
What is your guy's/gal's opinions?
