Surfriding quick steer mod question

I helped the OP with this mod and I don't really see how we can correct the nozzle turning further one way, It's not coming in contact with anything and the steering is hitting the stops going both directions. What could be causing this?

Okay, here is where i drilled the second hole. I think it may be to far towards that back which is causing the uneven amount of turn in nozzle. I want to make the 3rd hole. Should it be approximately in the same distance as the oem location? Just a little to the left? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341288245.163988.jpg
I was thinking of drilling where the pen is pointing

On my wife's SN, I used a rotary file and removed material next to the arm on the nozzle to get even more throw. You should be able to adjust the barrel connectors on either end to accommodate for the changes.

On my RN, I went a little more extreme. If you look at the reduction nozzle you can see where I clearanced it for the cable body.

Its changed some since this pic, but you get an idea where I'm headed. The pivot knuckle came from McMaster Carr.

I had the same issue when I went from stock steering plate to a xmetal adjustable shorty plate. My quicksteer mod worked perfectly fine on the nozzle end until I got the x metal plate. After that i believe I couldnt get full throw to the left. I treid every sort of adjustment and combination, and it just wouldnt work. i set the quicksteer adjustment on my steering plate to a thumbs width like xmetal said, and still could not get it to work right. With the xmetal plate I can make my nozzle hit the sides of the cone, it happens just as it hits the stops. I never knew about trimming the nozzle to get even more throw.

I know the plate houldnt matter, being the mount locations didnt change, but for some reason I could NOT get it to work right. If someone has done this mod with the xmetal -2 adjustable turn plate, please let me know, or post up a pic of your setup.

That looks pretty close where I drilled too. I also shaved a bit where I drew the arrows. Otherwise mine wouldn't turn equally to the left either.
