Super Jet quick steer mod with 08+ cable?

Hey guys I just purchased quite a few parts for my 2010 superjet which is rock stock. Im reinforcing it, putting in footholds, basically just making it to where its barrel rollable. I was also planning on doing the quick steer mod with the 07- cable but quite honestly I have to have money for other things (im 15). So I was wondering if I could just do the quick steer mod with the 08+ cable. Has anybody done this? Was it effective? Would appreciate some insight on this.
Thanks, levi

Yes the pole is different. It is really a fx1 pole. The top cast part is shorter so the 07 cable won't make it have more throw. You have to get a new pole or go with the Schmidty kit that comes with a cable and a little billet block that you bolt inside the top part of the pole and it makes the cable stop further down so you get more throw then a pre 08. I had an 08 pole before I went aftermarket still have the cable and stopper laying around if you are interested. Pretty cheap too since there is a little rust spot on the cable but was only used one season. Give me a pm if you want it.

Its doable with the 07+ cable. I've seen it done on many skis. It involves relocating the cable end closer to the nozzle(to the middle of the ski). Then on the other end I forget exactly how its set up. I'm not sure if we had to use spacers at the bar stop to protect the cable from breaking. Someone else can chime in here, but its for sure doable to use the stock cable and get quicker/more steer.

I'd be lost without the x
I have the system Dmac offered you. It has worked flawlessly for 3 seasons now. Definitely a must do mod.

I would buy the Schmitty setup off Dmac before trying anything else.

+1 schmitty just follow the template and drill. The 08 cable only has 2.5" of throw while the older SJ has 4". The top part of the pole is where it's different and doesnt have the correct bracket to hold the older style cables. Shmitty's kit includes the bracket, hardware and new cable. It's the cheapest/simplest way. Only other option is different pole or get cold fusion billet pole top.
