Yes it works and some people even use the Kawasaki steering nozzles on their Yamaha pumps.

If you Use a 650sx stock reduction and steering nozzle (no drilling needed because the arm is shorter)you get the same effect plus more bottom end

The Kawasaki 650 steering nozzle lever is mounted further back so the steering turning radius will be severely reduced. You would be better off modifying the Kawasaki 750-800 steering nozzle because the location is similar to the Yamaha steering nozzle and the diameter is 83.25mm which can be bored even larger IMO.
