R&D Dominator Manifold Differences

Alright so I'm looking to pick up a dominator manifold and I understand they make one manifold for OEM reeds and one for Vforce reeds in addition to the on that they make for the M-16's. Does anyone have any pictures of both or know how to differentiate between the two? I've got a set of Vf II's and want to make sure I buy the right manifold.

Why not the Boysean?? Works the same. Uses Orings for the seal at the plate to manifold. slight mod to OEM Cages and it works great.

hmmm. never thought about it. I'm assuming they will also accept the VF II's with a slight modification? how much are they new? unfortunately ive never seen one used.

I really don't understand why there is a difference between the VF II's and OEM R&D manifolds. I thought the reed cages were essentially the same as far as mounting and dimensions?

I gotcha. Well I think I would need an actual Vforce specific manifold because sport spec doesn't allow for any porting/modification of the intake manifold.

Alright so I found this thread by NJFL and he shows the difference between the VF and M16 manifold, but I still haven't found anything that indicates there is a difference between the VF and OEM manifold aside from the fact that R&D sells a different manifold for each.

you can modify the reed cage to fit the manifold. Not a performance altering change.

Cool. Didn't know that. Thanks Lee. Are you running the riva intake manifold or the dominator? What kind of modifications did you have to do to run the VF II's?

i am running the riva, i just port matched to the vforce cage.

If your going to run the V2 reed cages just get the R&D manifold (if you can get them) for them, It's a lot of grinding work to use the std oval one and open it up to fit the V2's.

Sorry don't know about that combination, I use too many aftermarket manifolds with aftermarket carbs.

I never saw much improvement when I had them with stock 38's. Just use OEM Cages and carbontech or Boysean Reeds.

Haha. Too late. Already bought the reeds. Hopefully I can come up with a nice set of 46's.

there was a set that sold on ebay a few days ago for 150 something but the spacing looked narrow

Narrow or wide spacing can be adjusted with a long or short Mikuni carb coupler rubber.

i can never find the long rubber coupler piece, i always end up changing out the shaft
