I have been there my friend. Any ideas what caused it? I know hydro locking an engine does that in a heart beat but I have seen two or three recently that were just tired old cranks that came apart. RIP

Holy cow!

So how much was invested in that motor? If you don't mind me asking.
I bought it about 3 years ago with ported cylinder and b pipe for $900. I put 3 top ends in it, ported the cases, added a power bomb, and rusted the fawk out of the cylinders (and maybe the crank) a few times. I don't feel too bad about it letting go.

I think it was tired. huge bore, high compression, and lots of water ingestion probably killed it.

the pistons were dry so it wasn't ingestion. It doesn't look like it siezed either.

I've got a 66e and a 62t on the shelf so no real worries about being down.

After all this Frankenstien talk, I decided to just run my 701T cylinders with the dual 38's and not worry about it.

What was the final displacement/setup on that pig?

86mm, 760 cyl? on 61x cases?

Got some good milage out of it from what I read. I'd be happy as hell, still sucks but better than it could have been.

noice!

you probably had a bent rod from a previous hydrolock and it decided that it wanted to kill itself right before st pattys day.

i hate it when that happens. im sure itll buff right out, though.
