If racing (or just flat water carving) is your plan don't waste your cash on a 750 or an SJ. The new rage is to pick up an SXR and do an 1100 conversion. An 1100 conversion can be done for $2500 or less, and you will have a seriously competitive Rec or Race ski, with a 120hp, that runs on pump gas and will do 60+ all day long. 750's, SJ's and Octanes aren't even in the same class. SXR 1100's are just as fast and way cheaper than a Hydro, all with OEM reliability

An 1100 is not something I would recommend or want on the course with me with a beginner racer......think about it.

thing is I would like to race to race in the 750 and under class, I also cant seem to find an sxr for a god price in my area. Meh

Well, on the bright side, at least one or 2 people read your OP and gave you some sort of useful answer. Shame it took 26 posts to get there. Good luck.

What organization/location has a 750 and under class, and what rule set are you trying to fall under? How many events per year? What are your goals? Are you going to race and rec ride, or just bouys/racing? What's your budget?

If you can't get or don't want an sxr or 08+ style superjet, I'd recommend a square nose w/ 701 over an SX.

DJSA-
750 and under Open Standup -
Any 650, 701, or 750cc or under SX or SJ.
Engine mods - unlimited - must not exceed 750ccs
Hull mods - unlimited

I would definitely run a square nose in that class. Squares also seem to corner better than the 96-07 RN.
You could build a good handling low-mid 50's square for under $2500
Here is more or less how I'd build it:
Destroyer tubbies- good resale or transferability to next ski
Hull extensions - cheap if you can find them used
Poor man's setback- blaster driveshaft w/ additional oem wear ring or 08 driveshaft w/ 2"spacer ring
62T/62T at just under 750cc w/ milled oem head.
OEM 44's
Dry Pipe - cheaper than a used b-pipe
